Google Latitude pros and cons

http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/02/04/google.latitude/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

My first judgment of Google Latitude was not a very positive one. I found it all to be a little too scary and stalker-ish for my liking. When I took a second look at the article, I promised myself I would search for the pros.

Pros:

1. You have to sign up to use this service. Great! You get to choose who stalks you.

2. It plans to launch in 27 different countries which could be useful while traveling. If you’re lost in Paris and French isn’t your forte, then Google Latitude could reunite you with your group.

3. If you lose your cell phone, a friend could help by using their Google Latitude to find your phone.

Reading the comments and watching this video makes me believe that most people enjoy their own privacy. However, these same Google Latitude haters post up-to-the-second updates on their facebook statuses and text someone while they're driving with the latest gossip. I think this too connected digital world might take the next step with Google Latitude.
